Dolley Varden
The Dolley Varden is not as known as the Rainbow Trout, but they play an important part in the cycle of our streams and rivers, by eating the good/dead eggs and pieces and parts of decaying fish that have spawned.

The Dolley are also fun to catch. They don't fight as well as a Rainbow Trout, but they will give a 4 wt. fly rod a work out.

They vary in sizes of 1 lb. to 10 lbs. While you are trying to catch that trophy, you will catch a lot of smaller dollies. They fight a lot different than the Rainbow Trout does. When you hook and Rainbow, it jumps out of the water trying to get rid of the hook. When you hook a Dolley it stays down and fights with a hard pulling weight.

The Dolley is a great fighting fish, and is one of the prettiest in the river.
